David Kemp studied organ with Christopher Stokes and conducting with James Gaddarn at Trinity College of Music, London in the late 1970s. Following his graduation in 1979 he took up Post-Graduate studies at Avery Hill College. He remained in London until 1993 and notable performances include Elgar's 'The Kingdom' at Southwark Cathedral, Vivaldi's 'Gloria' at St Mary le Strand and Elgar's 'Dream of Gerontius' at St Paul's Furzedown, where he was Director of Music. In 1993 he moved to Eastbourne, where he and his choir deputised at the following cathedrals: Southwark, Worcester, Portsmouth, Lichfield and St Paul's. In October 1999 he was appointed Director of Music at Bury Parish Church and led a successful music department at Castlebrook High School.
In April 2005, David moved to Herefordshire, when he was appointed Head of Music at Queen Elizabeth Humanities College in Bromyard. As well as directing Cradley Singers he also finds time to be the Assistant Conductor of Bromyard Wind Band and an active member of the local community including serving as a town councillor.

Bill started his musical life as a chorister at York Minster under the direction of Dr Francis Jackson. He later joined the Army and spent the next 35 years in various parts of the world but almost always singing with a local choir or Army church choir. He settled in this area in the mid 90's and has been Chairman of Cradley Singers for several years leading a lively and hard working committee with the prime aim of ensuring that the choir and its concerts run smoothly and that all that we do is fun. His aim is that we are as good a local choir as there is but also to have a great time along the way.
